passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at 4:10 a.m. at the Newton Rest Haven, Newton, Illinois.

Virginian May Herr, 81, of the Bend area, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at 4:10 a.m. at the Newton Rest Haven, Newton, Illinois.
Born on October 24, 1932, she was the daughter of Frank Goss and Elizabeth (Menacher) Goss. On June 21, 1952 Virginia married Henry L. “Bud” Herr and he died on December 19, 2000. Virginia was a homemaker; employed for 12 years at the Hi Way Cafe in Oblong; member of the First Christian Church; and Jasper County Farm Bureau. She previously attended school in Detroit, Michigan.
She is survived by her children: a son and daughter-in-law William Henry and Margie Herr of Effingham, IL.; and a daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Donald Kraus of Oblong, IL.; ten grandchildren; Timothy Kraus, Dawn Kraus and Doug Ochs, Kenneth Kraus, Adam and Erica Herr, Courtney Herr and Josh Clark, Ethan and Laken Herr; Gwen Overvig, Dustin and Crystal Biggs; fourteen great-grandchildren: Taylor and Osten Ochs, Riley Kraus, Tristan and Trenton Overvig, Davianna, Damian, and Desirae’ Biggs, Alana and Evan Herr, Addison and Anthony Wilder, Ian Herr and soon to be Makynzee Clark; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Delbert and Donna Goss of Olney, IL; Gerald Goss of Melvindale, MI.; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Carolyn Baldwin, Detroit, MI.; and Linda and Clyde Street of Southgate, MI.; several nieces and nephews and her care giver Ronnie Goss.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Gilbert and a sister Patsy Boren.
